What makes me unique to other bookkeepers?

Bookkeeping resources

I enjoy learning new things and love keeping myself up-to-date with technology advances.  I am a quick learner, so can self-study programs I’ve not used before.  This includes the use programs used in finance such as accounting packages like Sage, Quickfile, and Xero, and payment packages such as SumUp, Square, Stripe, and PayPal.

I’ve downloaded and self-taught how to set these up and discovered that once I knew how to use one program, the other variants were pretty much the same.

With the knowledge gained from comparing these different programs, I can advise businesses that are best to use based on requirements.  For example, if you are a small cafe or restaurant, you can use Square to set up online orders for customers who can tell you online how many people a table is booked for or arrange a click-to-collect service before choose what meals they would like to order.  They can pay online and simply turn up to be seated at their table or  collect their order to take away.  Square can also be used for appointment bookings, set up an online shop, and create news stories giving visitors the latest deals offered.

I can also build bespoke Excel spreadsheets that will allow you to log activities such as petty cash, mileage, timesheets, or set up invoices and purchase orders.  These can be downloaded for free on the downloads page.

I enjoy bookkeeping and computer work.  I’ve grown up with computers watching technology advance over the years from the basic ZX Spectrum of the 1980s as a child to the modern and forever advancing computers of today.
